For those
still not
sure who the
Arc Angels
are,
below is a
brief
biography.
The Arc
Angels, is a
blues / rock
band from
Austin /
Texas.
The band
members,
Doyle
Bramhall II,
Charlie
Sexton,
Chris Layton
and Tommy
Shannon have
their
musical
roots in
Texas.
The drummer
Chris Layton
and bassist
Tommy
Shannon,
were the
rhythm and
section
band, Double
Trouble,
of Stevie
Ray Vaughn.
When Stevie
Ray sadly
died
prematurely
in 1990,
the four men
formed the
Arc Angels.
The name had
his origin
in the
"Austin
Rehearsel
Complex.
In 1992, the
Arc Angels
made their
first
and only CD
by Geffen
Records. Up
with the
blues,
they have a
wonderful
and timeless
CD made.
They were in
the
Billboard
200!
There was a
fan base who
are very
dedicated
and
enthusiastic,
and still
is.
The band
have had
their TV
debut in the
David
Letterman
show in June
1992 and
January 1993
they were
again
invited as a
guest.
It looked
forward to
an
unparalleled
career as a
band were
making.
There is a
tremendous
chemistry
between the
band
members.
They have a
total own
sound!
The guitar
work of DB
II is
remarkable
because he
plays
left-handed/upside
down.
So
left-handed
on a right
handed
guitar!
Charlie
Sexton and
DB II take
up the lead
guitar
and lead
vocals on
their
behalf.
But as soon
as their
star rose,
so he
quickly
faded out.
Through
various
circumstances,
the band
split up
after a
farewell
tour
to have
given in
October
1993.
The four
band members
are their
individual
musical path
to follow.
Chris Layton
and Tommy
Shannon
formed
Storyville
and Charlie
and Doyle
have solo
CD’s
delivered.
Both have
cooperate
with big
names.
Charlie
including
Bob Dylan
and Doyle
with Roger
Waters
and
guitarist in
Eric
Clapton’s
band.
Since 2002,
the band
play again
on several
occasions.
They are
still wildly
enthusiastic
received by
the
increasingly
growing fan
base.
In Europe a
growing
number of
fans still.
After many
rumors came
on March 5,
2009 the
redeeming
news:
The Arc
Angels are
officially
back
together
(without
Tommy
Shannon)
and they are
working on a
new cd/dvd.
Release date
october 1st
2009.
Fans are
incredibly
excited!
The kicking
off of their
reunion was
in March
2009
at SXSW
festival in
Austin.
Furthermore
they are the
supporting
act been
Eric
Clapton,
in the
famous Royal
Albert Hall
in May.
Last July 9,
they started
a tour
through
America.
We hope for
a tour
through
Europe very
soon!!!
