Charles Wayne Sexton born on August 11, 1968 and raised in Texas,
made its debut in 1985 at age 16,
followed by a self-titled second album when he was 20.
In the early 80 Charlie began playing guitar with his brother,
under the aegis of the "Godfather of the Austin blues”. W.C. Clark.
With the help of Joe Ely and other local musicians
as Jimmy and Stevie Ray Vaughn, he developed his talent as a
musician.
In 1987 he was the opening act for David Bowie”s Glass Spider Tour.
Meanwhile he became increasingly successful as a guitarist,
and worked with artists such as Ronnie Wood, Keith Richards,
Don Henley, Jim Barnes and Bob Dylan.
From 1992-1994 he was a member of the Arc Angels.
Raised up with the blues he developed as a true blues musician,
but by the time the Angels were separated,
he played blues, inspired by rock and roll.
From 1994-1995 he formed a new group, Charlie Sexton Sextet.
The album Under the Wishing Tree from ‘95 was well received.
Meanwhile he was working with influenced by several music sounds,
including Celtic flavored rock, rock folk.
Bob Dylan was his biggest inspiration as a songwriter.
Charlie also has a number of years worked and performed with Bob
Dylan.
